This exhibition brings together paintings and photographs by multimedia artist Michael Soi (Kenya).
Born in 1972 in Kenya, Nairobi based artist Michael Soi is a multi-media artist who uses satirical social commentary to explore relationships, what he calls the "economics of love", commercial sex work and popular culture. He uses strong colors and plays with figures within a satirical framework. His paintings are inspired by a long history of cartoonists in Kenya. The photographs are painted bodies of women, using the body as a canvas Soi wants to highlight how women are constantly objectified.
